Arts and culture constitute
a universal plane where the dialogue can be carried on in a natural way...
a dialogue of many different spheres and cultural trends, a dialogue of
values and the human spirit.
In this way, the Jewish community has lived
in Poland for centuries, so many of its cultural values have been formed
there. As time passed, Jewish and Polish cultures began to penetrate and
influence each other. Polish science, art and culture profited from contributions
of many Jewish-Polish intellectuals. Among very well known persons, with
at least partially Jewish roots who have made great contributions to Polish
culture, are Adam Mickiewicz, Julian Tuwim and Adam Michnik. The same
applies to the Jewish heritage, in which Polish elements are among its
permanent components.
